The Venue on the Ferry is rooted in both history and vision. The land was acquired by Caesar Wright Sr., a Charleston native, in 1983. He was dedicated to preserving his family’s legacy, and the property embodies a profound commitment to heritage. Known locally as “HWY 33,” this land has remained in the Wright family for generations and stands today as one of the longest-operating Black-owned businesses on Clements Ferry Road.
Now under the care of Mr. Wright’s descendants, the venue continues to reflect his passion for creating purpose-driven spaces where people come together. We offer a flexible, modern environment where guests can take the lead in planning their events—or choose to work with our in-house event planning team for full-service coordination.
